Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 16, 2026 · Effective Date: September 16, 2026 ← EDIT

GoHaus ("GoHaus," "we," "us," or "our") operates https://www.gohaus.link (the "Site"), an independent smart-home product review and comparison site serving readers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, China, and the Middle East & Africa. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices and rights available to you. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

GoHaus participates in affiliate marketing programs, which means we may earn commissions on qualifying purchases made through links on this Site, at no additional cost to you. Our editorial reviews and recommendations are independent of these commercial relationships. See Section 5 below for details on how affiliate links work and what data they involve.

1. Who We Are

The Site is owned and operated by Gohaus Company, established in Saudi Arabia ("GoHaus," "we," "us," "our"). Gohaus Company is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy, except where a third-party service (such as an affiliate retailer or a payment processor) acts as an independent controller of your information once you leave the Site. Our registered business address is Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, and you can reach our privacy team using the contact details in Section 16.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you choose to give us, such as when you:

Sign up for our email newsletter or deal alerts (email address, and name if provided)

Contact us with a question, comment, or support request (name, email address, and message content)

Leave a comment or product review on the Site (name or username, and comment content)

Use the "Compare" feature to save products for later within your browser session

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address (which may reveal approximate location such as country or city), browser type and version, device type and operating system, referring and exit pages, pages viewed and time spent on them, and general usage patterns such as which products or reviews you view. See Section 4 for details on cookies and Section 6 for the analytics tools that generate this data.

2.3 Information From Third Parties

Our affiliate and advertising partners (see Sections 5 and 6) may share limited, aggregated information with us, such as whether a click from our Site resulted in a sale, for commission-tracking and reporting purposes. We do not receive your payment details, and we do not see what you purchase beyond the fact that a qualifying transaction occurred.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

Operate, maintain, and improve the Site, including its reviews, comparison tools, and filters

Send you newsletters, deal alerts, or responses to your inquiries, where you have opted in

Understand aggregate traffic and engagement patterns using analytics tools

Attribute purchases made through our affiliate links so retail partners can credit our commission

Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues

Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms of use

We do not sell your personal information for money. Where applicable law (such as the CCPA) treats certain advertising-cookie sharing as a "sale" or "share," see Section 9.1 for how to opt out.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) for the following purposes:

Essential cookies — required for core Site functionality, such as remembering filter selections and Compare list items during your session

Analytics cookies — help us understand how visitors use the Site (see Section 6)

Affiliate/attribution cookies — placed when you click a product link, so the destination retailer can credit GoHaus for a resulting purchase (see Section 5)

Advertising cookies — used by our advertising partners to make ads more relevant across the web (see Section 6)

Where required by law, we display a cookie-consent banner on your first visit that lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time via the cookie preferences link in the Site footer [← EDIT: confirm consent-management tool once selected]. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect Site functionality.

GoHaus is a participant in affiliate advertising programs, including the Amazon Associates Program and similar retailer and network partnerships, which are designed to provide a means for sites to earn commissions by linking to partner stores. When you click a "Buy," "Check Price," or similar link on the Site, you leave GoHaus and are directed to the retailer's own website, which places its own cookies and collects information under its own privacy policy — not this one. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any retailer before making a purchase. GoHaus does not have access to, and does not collect, any payment card details or account credentials you provide on a retailer's site.

6. Analytics & Advertising

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site, using cookies and similar identifiers to generate aggregate reports on traffic, popular pages, and general audience characteristics. Google may combine this data with information from other sites and apps. You can learn more about Google's practices and opt out of Google Analytics using the tools at Google's official privacy and opt-out pages. We may also work with advertising and affiliate networks that use cookies to measure ad performance and, where enabled, to show interest-based ads to you on other sites; these partners act as independent data controllers or processors for that activity, governed by their own privacy policies. [← EDIT: name specific analytics/ad partners once finalized, e.g. Google AdSense, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel]

7. How We Share Information

We share information only in the following circumstances:

Service providers who host the Site, send our emails, or provide analytics, bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations

Affiliate and advertising partners, limited to click/purchase attribution and, where enabled, interest-based advertising

Legal and safety purposes, where required to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, property, or safety of GoHaus, our users, or others

Business transfers, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy — for example, newsletter contact details are kept until you unsubscribe, and analytics identifiers are retained according to our analytics provider's default retention settings. We retain information longer where necessary to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, or to resolve disputes.

9. Your Privacy Rights by Region

Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights over your personal information. To exercise any right below, contact us using the details in Section 16; we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.

United States

CCPA / CPRA (California)

California residents may have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion or correction, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of information for cross-context behavioral advertising, including via advertising cookies. We do not knowingly sell personal information for monetary payment.

United Kingdom

UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018

UK residents have the right to access, correct, erase, or restrict processing of their data, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing. You may also lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

European Union

EU GDPR

EU-based visitors have the same core rights as under UK GDPR — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection — and may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

Canada

PIPEDA

Canadian residents may request access to, and correction of, their personal information, and may withdraw consent for optional uses such as newsletter marketing at any time. Complaints may be directed to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Australia

Privacy Act 1988

Australian residents may request access to and correction of personal information held about them, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, and may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if unsatisfied with our response.

China

PIPL

Under the Personal Information Protection Law, visitors in mainland China may request to know, access, copy, correct, or delete their personal information, and may withdraw consent to processing. Cross-border transfers of personal information out of mainland China are handled in accordance with PIPL's requirements.

Saudi Arabia & MEA

Saudi PDPL

As a company established in Saudi Arabia, GoHaus processes personal information in accordance with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL). Residents of Saudi Arabia may request access, correction, or deletion of their data, and may lodge a complaint with the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA). Visitors elsewhere in the Middle East & Africa may exercise the general rights described in this Policy.

Everywhere Else

General Rights

Regardless of location, you may always ask us what personal information we hold about you, request that we correct or delete it, and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email we send.

9.1 Opting Out of Interest-Based Advertising

You can opt out of Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and opt out of interest-based advertising generally through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (US), Your Online Choices (EU/UK), or the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada, as applicable to your region.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures — such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls — designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 (or the minimum age defined by applicable local law). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details in Section 16 and we will take steps to delete it.

12. International Data Transfers

Because GoHaus serves visitors across multiple regions and uses service providers that may process data outside your home country — including in Saudi Arabia, where Gohaus Company is established — your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms, to protect information transferred internationally.

13. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is currently no accepted industry standard for how sites should respond to DNT signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them. You can still manage tracking through the cookie controls described in Section 4 and the opt-out tools described in Section 9.1.

Beyond affiliate retailer links (Section 5), the Site may occasionally link to other third-party websites, such as manufacturer pages or news sources, for reference. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date, and where changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as a banner on the Site or an email to newsletter subscribers.

16. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise any of the rights described above, please reach out — we aim to respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
